This oil spill is a disgrace. It is perplexing that with the trillions of dollars the oil companies have they are not capable of a more timely clean up. While further damage is a concern a proactive plan should have been in place.
Oil spills are nothing new. This should shine light on the fact that we need to reduce our dependence on oil and discover other means of fueling our homes, vehicles and so on.
This has continued for far too long. Now the government is handing over a bill to BP? Do they really think that we the American people are that stupid. Who does the government think is going to cover the cost of that bill? That is right… You and I each time we put gas in our car to get to our job. So begins the economic downturn again!
I think that this entire thing should be able to be fixed quicker. I had to laugh when the news stated that BP is asking customers to write in with ideas on how to stop the oil from continuing to gush into the Gulf. They have billions of dollars and they want me to give them the solution for free? It makes no sence to me at all!
I am just outraged over this oil spill. It seems as if someone has it out for the Gulf. My brain cannot comprehend why this is taking so long to find a solution for. It is amazing! I think that this is the first time I have seen money not be able to fix something.
I also heard on the news that the oil could be coming up the eastern coast and I am so disappointed. I own several beach houses and I am worried that this will certainly discourage people from renting properties. What a mess this nation is in yet again over oil!
I cannot comprehend how the oil companies could not have avoided this. I think that at this point what is important it fixing the damage to the pipe as well as the environment and moving forward. Rather than the president handing out a bill to BP I think that new legislation needs to be a priority in everyone's minds. If this happened once it is bound to happen again!
