Charles Kong Djou (born August 9, 1970) took the oath of office on May 25, 2010 for Hawaii’s 1st congressional district, which was vacated by the resignation of Neil Abercrombie. He won a special, mail-in election on May 22, 2010, and became the first Republican to represent the district in 20 years. He is currently serving his second term on the Honolulu City Council, where he represents District 4 (Waikiki to Hawaii Kai).

    I am hoping that Charles Kong Djou does a good job. New blood tends to bring changes. Time will tell I guess.

    I like him a lot. I think that it is nice that government seems to be swinging back to younger leaders with families. It puts them more in touch with the trials that so many families are currently experiencing.
