I think that it is wonderful that there are so many women taking the lead in politics. No longer is there a great woman behind every man. Now the woman are the great ones… She will do wonderful things!
I think that so many nations are opening up their views of the capabilities of women and all they can do. I wish Prime Minister Gillard all the best in her newly elected position.
I think that with her experience as deputy Prime Minister she will do a wonderful job. The question is… can she get over all of the past concerns? I guess that time will be the determining factor.
I hope that Prime Minister Gillard is able to do a better job in her new position. In the current global economy and world politics it is important that nations have strong confident leaders.
I am sure that she will do a wonderful job in her new position. I hope with each woman elected overseas Americans move closer to electing a woman president. I am sure in time we will catch up with the rest of the world.
I love the girl power mighty in her, this actually exibits that the 50/50 gender parity for women the world over is possible.
You are really inspiring and mentoring.Your wormth keeps me go indeed.

Kampala Uganda.
I think that America is actually behind the rest of the world in the area of male female equality. It is so important that we continue to be seen as intelligent individuals. This is the only way that we will continue to see gender progress in this great nation.
Women are moving into a new era. Look at our last election here at home. It all comes down to powerful woman leading to a lot of talk. I think that in time we will see the same wonderful female power here that we see elsewhere.
I do not think that it should come down to gender. I think that it is important to see who is the best person for the job. I believe that turning this into a gender issue diminishes all that she is and can become as a person.
She certainly has a lot of valuable assets to bring to the table. I wish her all the luck in the world. I am sure that she is going to do a wonderful job in assuring that her people have what they need.
Obviously gender isn't an issue, as long as her strings are attached she will serve the puppeteer well.
Hello !
Its after i was writting to the Prime Minister Julia Gillard than my mail bounced to one Julia Gillard who told me is just a photographer in New York. What are big bounce on me.
Jean.
When we menthion gender, the quality and ability one holds is just an absolute qualification.I can not imargin that one thinks of gender just being a woman and not the potential. In other words a woman making it to that that level explains she has all the series of ability,
success as a woman is not just a chance, its what makes a worthwhile candiadte in her at the end of day. Many womem have this but are not able to make it, so once she makes it, she is lifting the silent gender potential in women that the world has not yet fully exploited.Go ahead girl !
Jean, Kampala.
look at angela merkel (germany). There are more and more women proofing there are more requirements necessary to do the job than having a certain gender.
there are more requirements necessary to do this job than being a man or a woman.
she is very much dedicated to her job. particulary she took the parson victim of flood as personal grief as she shedded tears in their moarn. she is very charming and beautiful having a huge personality. a unique style politician. she is a perfect school of thoughtm i am very much impressed from her. dr maqsood pakistan
Hello non Australian voters on Julia Gillard's ability. You are fortunate that you don't live in Australia and have to live through her absolute uselessness for the job. I understand that a lot of Americans are quite excited by her being the first woman elected as an Australian Prime Minister.
But technically she has not been elected – she managed a coup by ousting another incapable P.M. called Kevin Rudd and is leading a minority government in association with a useless mob of independents and green party members.
If you want a woman role model in Australia look at Gail Kelly, the CEO of our biggest bank, Westpac. She is smart, articulate and capable – the exact opposite of our Julia.
Our Julia has squandered a $20 billion dollar budget surplus within three years and has come up with a $250 billion surplus.
And she lied to the Australian public in her election promises late last year when she fervently told us she will not bring in a carbon dioxide tax – and this month she has.
THUS my dear yankee friends Julia Gillard is not worth an 8/10 – she's probably pushing to achieve a score of 1.
Cheers
Steve from Sydney, Australia
Julia Gillard is the worst Prime Minister in Australia's history. She outsted our elected Prime Minister, she gained power, wasted our money with one bungled policy after another and is leading the country into economic ruin. She didn't even win a majority in the last election and had to take government by doing deals with The Greens (a minor party) and independents who, in return, want their own agendas pushed. Watch this space for the next Australian election as at the moment she has the worst ratings in Australia of any prime minister that we've ever had. She may be Australia's first female prime minister but she's not Australia's first ELECTED prime minister.
Dear Americans,
On behalf of all Australians I would like to apologise for subjecting you to the voice of this red haired, Ronald McDonald look-a-like, pathetic excuse for a Prime Minister. I didn't vote for her, infact not even the majority of ALP voters voted for her. Instead 5 clueless old twits held the nation at knifepoint and decided she was a good fit for this country.
Over here she has a 30% approval rate and dropping.
Again sorry you were subjected to her nasally, bogan/hick/redneck voice!
Regards,
The Australian Public
A long time socialist with strong anti-american views. She came to power unelected by knifing her predecessor in the back. She failed to get enough votes to be re-elected, so she sided with the radical and extremely anti-american party “The Greens” to form a government. One of her key election promises was “NO carbon tax” which she is now seeking to push.
Julia Gillard has my support BUT its more than a great shame that the large miners got away with getting the government to do a backflip on the mining tax. I hope that the Australian government rectify this so that their people get their fair share, instead of the small number of executives and relatively small number of shareholders.
She will be regarded as the worst Prime Minister Australia has had in recent history. She is now making Kevin Rudd (who she knifed in the back for the top job) look good!
In all her time as Prime Minister she has not done a single thing of note. She has talked a lot about doing things but they never eventuate. Also she lied directly to the Australian people a number of times. Her party (Labor) is now rating the lowest it ever has. She will not be Prime Minister at the next elections as Labor will replace her by then (even the book makers think it will be unlikely).
Oh you genius – really – you mean there is more? Yes there are douche – and Gillards got the requirements. There are also more requirements to talking somebody down than pointing out gender at all.
and there are more and more (no maybe just you) blogging men proving they have no sensible rational for their gender based statements
….but I am glad that you are the expert in the requirements to run a country – wow where have you been? Politics has needed that since ummm well …. the English, the Romans, the Macedonians, the Persians, the Mongols, Neanderthal man …..
What a wank. Julia Gillard is the most unpopular Prime Minister we have had. If the Americans like her so much they can have her.
You like her you can haver — she is killing Australia
I am an Australian and Let me say that Australia does not trust this woman!!!! You only have to look in our news to find out just how un liked she is, Australia is about to go to rack and ruin. The media is a wonderful thing when she dictates what is to be said about her, she makes a mockery out of Australia, everything she said in her speech at Congress was the biggest suck up anyone has ever seen. You should come home and fix your country first
Dear Doctor, you obviously need new glasses, and a lesson in psychology. This person, Ju-LIAR Gillard (so-called because she has told the Australian public so many lies), is a ruthless product of the Australian Labor Party spin machine. She has no ideas of her own. She does what the party machine tells her to do. If not, then she's out. And then we suffer another Labor Party moron. Believe me, we Australians have to live with it. But not for much longer. Ju-LIAR's time is running out!!!!

Here's a practical way to understand Julia Gillard Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme. Imagine 1 kilometre of atmosphere and we want to get rid of the carbon pollution in it created by human activity. Let's go for a walk along it. The first 770 metres are Nitrogen. The next 210 metres are Oxygen. That's 980 metres of the 1 kilometre. 20 metres to go. The next 10 metres are water vapour. 10 metres left. 9 metres are argon. Just 1 more metre. A few gases make up the first bit of that last metre. The last 38 centimetres of the kilometre – that's carbon dioxide. A bit over one foot. 97% of that is produced by Mother Nature. It’s natural. Out of our journey of one kilometre, there are just 12 millimetres left. Just over a centimetre – about half an inch. That’s the amount of carbon dioxide that global human activity puts into the atmosphere. And of those 12 millimetres Australia puts in .18 of a millimetre. Less than the thickness of a hair. Out of a kilometre! As a hair is to a kilometre – so is Australia 's contribution to what Julia Gillard calls Carbon Pollution
maybe you folks in other countrys dont suffer the crap Gillard the lier dishes out , she is a wooden face woman as two faced as they come , no emotions unless its written into her speach (cry here )

Gillard is the worst PM ever. She lied and schemed her way to the top. Her Government’s Policies are eating away at the heart of Australia.
Ju-liar started off with a lie and continues to live the lie. We often hear Ju-liar and the worst Treasurer we have ever had (no not Keating) spruke about how Australia has weathered the GFC. What about the 1000′s of small businesses that have had their bank funding withdrwaw and gone to the wall because those same banks will not finance people buying a small business (are these the same banks that this Government guaranteed (with our money) at the start of the GFC?)
Call an early snap election Ju-liar and test your popularity
