   I was born 3/10/1948 in Buford,Ga.Walked out of highschool in 1966 into the workplace.I worked for DeKalb Co., for 5 yrs.,Gwinnett Daily News for 5 yrs., and BellSouth Telecommunications for 26 yrs.,I married in 1968, had my one and only son in 1969 and divorced in 1975.Got little or no child support, raised my son by myself;Tracking back, when I was 12 yrs. old I fractured my left ankle, it was not properly taken care of, as I got older, it turned into arthiritis, I walked differently trying to take pressure off of it, turning it into a herniated disk, in left back, hip problems, leg problems; I retired in 2003, because of this, had bought a ‘money pit’ house in 2000, with the agent and inspector, teaming up together to sell me this, and get their commission; 6 mo. into being in house, I was forced to get a home improvement loan (HIL) high interest, paid on it 4 yrs., no balance drop, in 04, I took money from pension to pay off HIL, not knowing the repercussions of taxes; in 05, found out I owed IRS $23,000. Set up payment plan, paid them, to no avail in the long run, everything snowballed, in 2008 I lost my house, am staying partime with my son & daughter in law, and partime with a friend. I also am on medication for high blood pressure, hiatel hernia, high cholesterol, and tacacardia (a high powered beta blocker), have chronic middle ear infections, a cataract, which I cannot afford to have removed….I applied for MY social security benefits (disability) and SSI in Jan., 08, was denied in Sept., 08, did appeal, Oct. 08, they have dragged it out for 8 months., have done every thing they’ve asked me to do, gone to doctor’s appts., waited on their dreaded calls; only to be denied again today June 16, 2009. I am desperate — have no income, my son and daughter in law cannot afford to support me, my friend is 6 yrs. old today, and is trying to help support me.
   What is wrong with this country when my parents, grand parents, great grandparents, and great great grandparents all worked in this country, and in this state……and I have worked in this state, and my son works in this state……WHO IS GETTING MY SOCIAL SECURITY MONEY I PAID IN FOR 37 YEARS. I am desperate, need help……..
