Gerald Rudolph “Jerry” Ford who was born as Leslie Lynch King Jr ,  July 14, 1913 – December 26, 2006) was the 38th President of the United States serving from 1974-1977. Prior to his election as President Ford was th 40th Vice President of the US serving from 1973-1974. He entered his role as President after the resignation of Richard M. Nixon and to date is the only President and Vice President to have been elected without the vote from the Electoral College. Prior to his service as Vice President, Ford served as a Representative for 25 years from Michigans 5th Congressional district.
