Congressman Schrader is a veterinarian and farmer who lives with his wife Martha on Three Rivers Farm in Canby where they grew and sold organic fruit and vegetables. Before being elected to Congress, he owned and managed the Clackamas County Veterinary clinic in Oregon City. Congressman Schrader still maintains his veterinary license.  The clinic currently treats companion animals (dogs and cats).
