Sean R. Parnell (born November 19, 1962) in Hanford, California. Parnell is currently serving his first term as the governor of Alaska. Parnell is the 10th governor of Alaska. He was sworn into office on July 26, 2009 following Sarah Palin’s resignation from office. As a member of the Republican Party, Parnell served in the Alaskan House of Representatives in 1992 followed by a term in the Alaska State Senate in 1996. While serving on the Alaska State Senate, Parnell was a member of the Energy Council and was a member and co-chair of the finance committee. Since 1987 Parnell has been an attorney, licensed in both Alaska and Washington D.C. In 2007 Parnell ran for the lieutenant governor. In the primaries Parnell ran separate from Sarah Palin. In the election both Palin and Parnell ran together to achieve a victory.
Governor Parnell is focused on two things. He has set out to create economic opportunities and assure a safe, healthy place to raise a family. Parnell is currently running for a full term as the Governor of Alaska.
