Bio:  James Earl “Jimmy” Carter Jr. (born October 1, 1924) in Plains, Georgia. As a member of the Democratic Party, Carter served as the 39th president of the United States from 1977-1981.  Carter graduated from the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland in 1946.  Following graduation he married Rosalynn Smith.  Carter served as a Naval Officer for seven years before entering the political arena.   He served one term as the Democratic Governor of Georgia and two terms as the Democratic Senator for Georgia.   In 2002 Carter was the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for his tireless efforts to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts.  Read his bio on Wikipedia…
