Wu submitted his official resignation on August 3, 2011 which will prompt a special election to fill the vacancy in advance of the 2012 election.[4] Wu served as the U.S. representative for Oregon’s 1st congressional district from 1999 to 2011.  This after Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Steve Israel (N.Y.) issued statements Sunday night calling for the House ethics committee to look into the conduct of Rep. Schrader, Kurt (D-OR-5th) Rep.

Congressman Schrader is a veterinarian and farmer who lives with his wife Martha on Three Rivers Farm in Canby where they grew and sold organic fruit and vegetables. Before being elected to Congress, he owned and managed the Clackamas County Veterinary clinic in Oregon City.
